Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
Would you like to join the ranks of over 100,000 CPIM designees worldwide?
The APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) program is recognized globally as the standard of professional competence in production and inventory management. For over 45 years, employers have recognized the value APICS CPIM designees bring to their organizations. Companies increasingly list “APICS certification required” in their job postings. Also, recent salary surveys showed that CPIM-certified professionals earn significantly more than their peers.
The APICS CPIM program has helped thousands of companies improve their operations and competitiveness. According to Greg Ankney, Director of Materials Management for SSP Fittings, in Twinsburg, Ohio: “SSP has used APICS CPIM training to learn the principles of planning systems. By applying these principles to our operations, service level increased from 65% to 92%, average delivery lead-time decreased from over 2 weeks to less than 2 days, on-time delivery increased from 95% to 99.8%, and inventories were reduced by 25%. These results were critical to SSP Fittings winning the Industry Week Best Plants Award.”
Starting with version 8, all CPIM content will now be taught in just 1 course, where is was previously 2 separate courses and exams. The CPIM Part 1 course, previously called “Basics of Supply Chain Management”, covered 6 modules. The CPIM Part 2 course covered an additional 8 modules, which included content from the MPR, DSP, ECO and SMR courses. To become CPIM certified now, you only need to pass one exam for version 8 of CPIM.. You do not need a college degree to become CPIM certified.

Class Dates, Pricing and Location:
CPIM classes are held on weekday evenings, weekday daytime, and weekends. These interactive CPIM classes meet online for 60 hours of instruction. Review sessions are held at the end of the course, which are particularly helpful for students that missed any of the classes. All classes are taught by an APICS Master Instructor with decades of practical experience, and who spends extra time (beyond class time) helping his students learn the material. Besides the standard course materials from APICS, we also cover additional content that can be on the CPIM exam, and our students have an extremely high pass rate on the exam.
Registration for upcoming classes has started. Mentoring available from our APICS Master Instructor once you register.
